Every day, KSM Consulting employees dive into some of the most complex challenges head-first, delivering client solutions that often directly impact communities by putting people at the forefront of them. But that passion for solving people-centered problems isn’t just reserved for our client service. Community is a driving force of KSMC’s culture, whether it’s working with clients or interacting with the community outside our window. In fact, it’s even a part of our mission: “Helping clients, coworkers, and communities thrive.” KSMC employees are actively engaged in four types of communities through their work, their interactions with each other, and the passion they bring to causes after hours. The Client Community Leading with empathy means developing a deep understanding of our clients. This allows us to not only understand the challenges they face as an organization but to understand deeply how they work and how our solutions will play a role in their individual and organizational success. We can only achieve understanding by building deep relationships with our client community. These are fundamental to creating solutions that make the lives of their employees better, provide better service to their clients, or solve crucial challenges in their communities. The KSMC Community Our people are at the heart of what we do, and their interactions with each other have built a work community that celebrates problem-solving, growth, and creativity. Not only do KSMCers work alongside each other to tackle interesting, challenging projects, but they also turn to each other to learn, often sharing knowledge and mastering techniques alongside each other. Some also build mentorship relationships, helping to enhance each other’s careers. This community is important to us as an organization, and we love welcoming talent that shares the same values of empathy, problem-solving, deep expertise, and client focus and providing an environment that helps them thrive. The Indianapolis Community With two offices in the city and our headquarters right on Monument Circle, it’s not hard to forget that we’re a part of the larger Indianapolis community. Our employees are actively engaged in our community, and our KSMC Cares campaign was driven by their passions. In 2019, this included sponsorship of the annual Drumstick Dash 5K supporting Wheeler Mission, our Community Day event at Gleaners Food Bank, supporting Wheeler Mission through the Indy Tech Circle of Caring, and, of course, hosting the annual BraveCamp in Indy, as well as countless other initiatives throughout the year. Team members are invited to participate in ways that best fit their time and interests, whether that means volunteering, supporting a cause financially, or rallying others to do the same. Our team members are also invested in collaborating with each other throughout the year to participate in service projects and other community-impacting initiatives. The Indianapolis Tech Community KSMC is also proud to be a member of the larger, thriving tech community in Indianapolis. As one of the top cities in the country and midwest for tech (Midwest Startups ranked it #4 in 2019), Indianapolis is full of people and companies to work with, collaborate, and do good. This year KSMC joined forces with Sigstr, Zylo, and Sky Outfitters for the first-ever Tech Circle of Caring, and on Tuesday, December 17, we were stationed on Monument Circle to collect non-perishable donations supporting Wheeler Missions. We look forward to other ways to work with our friends in the Indy tech scene well into the future! Do you share KSMC’s people-first philosophy?
