Setting our sights on “thriving” is reflective of an ongoing, trusting relationship that is about continually building up, and not stopping simply because we reached one goal post of success. We believe it’s about working toward growth, about health and well-being, about future success. Right now, in the midst of a pandemic and economic downturn, thinking about how we support others to thrive is a little different. Long-term health and well-being aren’t as relevant when immediate needs look more like survival for many individuals, families, and businesses in our community. Empathy guides our problem solving as an organization and as people, and it’s the foundation for how we’re fulfilling our mission right now as well. Today’s challenges are much different than they were a year ago. The severity of them has increased, as has the weight we feel to make a difference. At the same time, supporting each other and our communities feel more tangible than ever before because we know – through personal experience – that even little things can make all the difference in a person’s day or an organization’s future. What does our mission mean to us today? Right now? It’s different for each member of our team, but it’s rooted in empathy and a desire to help our communities survive today and thrive again. “Right now, I’m helping clients thrive means helping small business owners manage the shifting financial times and prepare for the federal funding and forgiveness so that they can support their employees, customers, and organizations.” “I’m trying to reach out to a different teammate each day to help us stay connected and feel supported, even when we’re physically isolated from others.” “We serve the communities where we live and work. Helping them thrive right now means helping our government clients use data to drive actions and community support needed for today’s exceptional challenges.” “It means giving our team a chance to connect and focus on our growth and well-being while reading “Dare to Lead” by Brene Brown together because empathy and courage are needed now more than ever.” “There are so many more families experiencing hunger right now. After volunteering at Gleaners Food Bank last fall, I was inspired by how far-reaching their support is. To support Gleaners and our neighbors who are hungry, I started making and selling crafts online and donating all proceeds to Gleaners. It’s been a fun outlet for me while giving back.” While we navigate the incredible day-to-day challenges of a global pandemic, personally and professionally, it’s powerful to be united by our mission and working together toward it, each in our own way.
