KSM Consulting’s Kimberley Garriott named a Most Influential Woman in Health IT

KSM Consulting announced that the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) has named Principal Consultant, Kimberley “Kim” Garriott, a Most Influential Women in Health IT. The award celebrates women at all career stages who harness the power of information and technology to transform health and healthcare.

Garriott has focused her career on improving health outcomes through improved data management and interoperability, specializing in clinical imaging data. As a Principal Consultant with KSM Consulting, Kim is serving as project executive for the development of a first-of-its-kind enterprise data-sharing platform and data governance model for the 29 agencies and offices within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

“Kim’s status as a pioneer in health care IT cannot be overstated,” said John Roach, chief revenue officer at KSM Consulting. “She has dedicated her career to helping best-in-class organizations like the Cleveland Clinic improve patient outcomes by implementing enterprise imaging and data management programs, many of which were the first of their kind.”

Prior to joining KSM Consulting, she served as Principal Consultant at Logicalis, a global IT services and solutions provider with more than 6,000 employees, where she led the development of the healthcare consulting practice. Garriott has held multiple consultant leadership roles at organizations like the Cleveland Clinic, University of California Health System, and Indiana University Health. During her tenure at Cleveland Clinic, Garriott led the design and implementation of the most mature enterprise imaging program in the world.

An active member of HIMSS, Garriott is the co-founder and current co-chair of the HIMSS-SIIM Enterprise Imaging Community, a joint effort between HIMSS and the Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine. Garriott also served as chair for the HIMSS Analytics Digital Imaging Adoption Model (DIAM) Global Development team. A sought-after speaker, Garriott provided a keynote at the 2017 HIMSS Middle East conference in Saudi Arabia.

Passionate about female mentorship, Garriott seeks to help young women working in health IT hone skills necessary for career advancement. She is also a member of Executive Women in Healthcare, a group focused on developing women in the industry.
