Meet Our People: Anne Gee

Anne Gee manages the team that provides project management services on the Management Consulting side of KSM Consulting. Her innate curiosity and service-oriented nature have been a natural fit with KSMC since day one. She found her way into a career in technology almost accidentally and loves to build collaborative relationships with our clients and help them be successful.

Why did you pursue a career in technology?

I had a roommate in college that would build computers… One day I actually took her computer apart, and before she woke up, I put it back together… That’s really what sparked my interest in technology. I’ve always been attracted to the future and how we can make things better… At KSMC, I’ve really come to understand how expansive technology is. It’s not just an iPhone or a computer, it’s so much more… I’m very analytical so I can dig in and figure things out.

Why did you choose KSMC?

Why do I drive 100 miles every day to work at KSMC? The moment I walked in there was a connection between the people and what everybody does here at KSMC. The mission is about helping others, and that’s what I strive to do in my day-to-day life. I felt like I really aligned with KSMC in that way.

Why do you do the work you’re doing now?

I manage the project managers in the Management Consulting area of our business. I’ve always gravitated towards teaching, managing, and leading. Mostly, I wanted to grow, and this position really provided me the opportunity to do that, and to do the things that I love to do.

What skill would you like to master?

There are lots of skills that I want to master. On the KSMC side, I want to be like Mark [Mark Caswell, KSMC CEO]. I want to be able to get in front of whomever, wherever, and really talk to them, actually connect with them. That alone is just an awesome skill to have.

Outside of KSMC, I’d like to master skills related to cooking, I don’t cook. I would love to master the ability to just look at ingredients and put something together, and not have to look at a cookbook. (But that’s a skill you have to practice for, and I don’t cook, so there’s no practicing there.)

What are you most excited about this year?

I’m excited and nervous because I think that in the next year not only is KSMC going to grow massively, enough that we’re probably going to grow out of our current office spaces. That’s why I’m a little nervous. But, mostly I’m excited for the growth and opportunity that’s here at KSMC because of that growth.

What advice do you have for anyone considering a career in tech?

Patience is a must because things don’t always work the way we think they should. So, with technology, you have to be very well-prepared, especially if you are using technology for meetings. Know that things might break sometimes, and that’s okay. Just try again. It’s a new day tomorrow.
